Fei is a registered landscape architect in New York and Massachusetts with over five years of experience on both public and private projects, from schematic design to construction administration.
Fei earned her Bachelor of Science degree from China Agricultural University, BSLA from Purdue University and MLA from Cornell University with a concentration of Urban Planning and Real Estate Development. During her time at school, she has received Honor of Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects in both 2014 and 2017 for her outstanding academic achievements. She was also awarded as Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant by Cornell University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences for her dedication to assisting in the graduate design studio and GIS lab. She was actively involved in the Cornell multi-discipline program: Design Connect, to provide design and planning services to the communities in need. She has also done a lot of collaboration work outside class. Her team submission “Eat! Play! Grow!” won the student 2nd place award for the Better Philadelphia Challenge.
Prior to joining Terrain Studio, Fei has been working on high-end residents and public space in New England and the Finger Lakes Region. She works closely with clients and other consultants to bring every design detail to life. She believes good design should be both artistic and scientific. There is always a logic behind supporting a beautiful design. As a designer, it is important to express and convey our logic to the client and the end-users in an artistic way.
Besides being a landscape architect, Fei is also a graphic designer and website designer working on random projects in her spare time. Her three designs won the Holiday ‘B’ contest hosted by the City of Boston in 2020. Not to mention, Fei is also a fierce dragon boat racer with tens of medals on hand including Women’s Champion of Boston Dragonboat Festival for two consecutive years.
