As a graduate of Louisiana State University with a Bachelor’s in Landscape Architecture, Camila’s academic work experience was dedicated to the understanding of landscape design as a tool to remediate urban environments and to achieve an equilibrium between people and place. Passionate about sustainability, her goal in the profession is to create meaningful positive changes in people’s quality of life and wellness through design. Camila’s early work experience on small and large-scale projects began in Brazil while working with Sergio Santana. Some of her previous work includes not only multi-family projects throughout Barra da Tijuca Bay, Rio de Janeiro, but also hotels, residences, and urban design in the southeast and northeast of Brazil. Later, she became involved in projects in China while interning with Callison and Terrain Studio. Currently, Camila is working on Xing Yuan New Town. She received the Digital Excellence Award from Louisiana State University for her Capstone Project entitled “Social housing program as driver for urban forestry practices in São Paulo.” During her undergraduate program, Camila also received the Baton Rouge Garden Club Award, and the Helen Memorial Scholarship.
